New Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater is Summer Hot-Spot

In the midst of 101 degree heat on July 25, 4,100 people packed into the new Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater to watch Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd, and Chevelle perform.  On July 23, nearly 5,000 people piled in to watch Tennessee-based Paramore perform with Canadian folk rockers Tegan and Sara.

Opening just last month, the new amphitheatre has enjoyed great success in part to its strategic location in downtown.  Downtown restaurants and bars are sharing in the success as many concert-goers enjoy the convenience of having many different entertainment options within a short distance of the amphitheater.  The Triangle already boasted a strong music scene, with both Walnut Creek and Koka Booth Amphitheatre, holding 20,000 and 7,000 guests respectively.

The Downtown Raleigh Amphitheater will likely announce a new sponsorship agreement soon, releasing its official name and setting the stage for a new musical venue in a flourishing downtown.
