A more recent focus of Wake County Economic Development is the computer and video game industry, specifically serious games and advanced learning technologies. The overall games industry has seen tremendous growth in the past several years, but we believe the best is yet to come. The military, healthcare industry, academia and private sector are investing heavily in serous games as a workforce development and training tool. As those investments grow, our companies will benefit, and our overall economy will benefit.

Wake County is already leading the nation in the development of these advanced learning technologies.  Existing companies are thriving here, and outside companies are migrating here to access our talented workforce and to partner with our institutions of higher education in developing next generation technologies.
