Biotech

North Carolina is home to the third largest biotechnology cluster in the United States. The vast majority of those companies are located in and around Wake County.

Why does this cluster exist and continue to grow? Simple. Wake County offers a skilled workforce, sophisticated venture capitalists, and access to dozens of biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies and CROs. Add to that the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, research hospitals, and a one-of a kind, $35 million training facility known as BTEC.
