One of 'America's Top Boom Towns' is 30 minutes from Raleigh

A report from Realtor.com highlights 10 towns across the country that show the strongest growth in jobs, household formation and housing starts.

Counted among some of the largest U.S. metros is Rolesville, which is the only North Carolina town to make the list.

The report says, "Rolesville is known for its strong regional economy and prime positioning, with North Carolina State University, Duke University, and The University of North Carolina all less than an hour away." To support its claim, Realtor points to the town's accolades, including Fastest Growing North American City (Forbes.com), Top Housing Market for Investors (Forbes), and Top Public Schools in the U.S. (Greatschools.org).

The top 10 "boom towns," according to Realtor.com:

  1. Gilbert, Arizona
  2. Los Angeles
  3. Dallas
  4. Miami
  5. Las Vegas
  6. Seattle
  7. Rolesville
  8. Brooklyn, New York
  9. Chicago
  10. Atlanta
