Triangle Gains 13,000 Jobs

Up 13,000 jobs from 2009, Raleigh’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.2 percent, down from 9.1 percent just a year earlier.  The Triangle continues to fare well in employment compared to the rest of the state.  At 1.7 percent less than the statewide unemployment percentage of 9.9 percent, the Triangle continues to move quickly toward recovery.

The Triangle’s job gains came even amidst an influx of more than 9,000 people to the region’s labor pool.  This indicates that the Triangle, even in economic recovery, continues to draw talent and skilled labor.
