CBC AMERICA Corp. Moves North America Headquarters to Cary

Relocation to create nearly 100 N.C. jobs

RALEIGH, N.C. – April 22, 2015 – CBC AMERICA Corp. announced today that it will move its North America headquarters to Cary, N.C. CBC AMERICAS is the largest organization of the CBC Group, a global network of manufacturing, import, export, trading and distribution companies with worldwide headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and more than 30 sales offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide. CBC’s North America headquarters is comprised of six divisions: imaging technologyopticschemicals and pharmaceuticalsflooringplastics and Eco-Energy.

The global manufacturing company will move its operational and financial divisions from Long Island, N.Y., creating nearly 50 new jobs in Wake County at an average annual wage of $85,000. The corporation will house its distribution warehouse in Alamance County, N.C., employing an additional 29 workers.

“CBC’s relocation is evidence of the strong economic development and community partnerships we have at play in Wake County and across the state,” said WCED Executive Director Adrienne Cole.

The decision to relocate resulted from four months of ongoing collaboration between CBC and Wake County Economic Development (WCED), the N.C. Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. (EDPNC), the Cary Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Cary, Alamance County and the Town of Mebane. These economic development partners also worked closely with several community organizations including: the North Carolina Community College System, Capital Area Workforce Development Board (CAWDB), Regional Partnership Workforce Development, Elon University, Meredith College and NC State University’s Japan Center.
