Wake ranked North Carolina’s healthiest county

In a collaborative report between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, Wake County ranks no. 1 in North Carolina for overall health.  The report, assessing wellness in nearly all of the nation’s counties, considers a variety of factors, including premature deaths, self-reported health status, percent of low birth-weight babies, obesity rates, high school graduation rates, unemployment, and pollution. Wake County ranks healthiest in North Carolina based on lifespan, exercise habits, and medical access.
